Member of the Board of Directors at Desjardins Caisse de L'Education
As a member of this organization I work closely with members of other union representatives and associations such as the FSE, FAE as well as the groups of retired teachers as well as education administers to provide accountability to this education focused financial institution.
Leader of Humanitarian Health/Education Mission In Africa
I led a humanitarian mission to rural sub-Saharan Africa in which my team—made up of health and education professionals— provided valuable services to a small community of Ndolage. At the time a baseline study had just been completed that demonstrated that Teacher directed instruction took up to 55% of class time with pupil directed taking up just 14% (UNICEF, 2008).
President of Low Income Housing Association/Cooperative
For ten years I was the president of a non-profit housing association that looked after the housing needs of low income families in Montreal. During this time I meet with local and city officials in order to ensure that funds and operational objectives were met.
Respect for Indigenous Ways of Knowing
I have travelled to several communities across Quebec in order to work with educational stakeholders in indigenous communities in Kahnawake & the Cree territory (James Bay).
Promoted Bilingualism in Prince Edward Island
I was hired by the department of Canadian Heritage to work with the Capital Commission of PEI on order to promote History and Bilingualism.
