TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
I have the educational, professional and track record of going over and above to promote teacher well-being and respect. I have demonstrated a strong ability to collaborate, have a shared vision with teachers, be influential, and possess an adaptive capacity. In addition, I possess the intelligence to adapt to the internal and external factors that impact teachers. I have shown that I can build and strengthen teachers’ rights and increase member engagement.
WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF PEDAGOGICAL AFFAIRS?
Simply put, experience teaching at all levels, strong academic credentials (PhD) and proven long standing conviction/devotion to LTU teachers. In addition to having a decade of experience at LTU as a member of the Board of Directors, and Secretary/Treasurer. I have teaching experience at all levels. I cannot stress how important it is for someone who will hold this position to have been in the classroom at every level teaching multiple subjects. More over, experience working with special needs students is increasingly becoming a concern and with that experience I believe I would be excellent in the position. pedagogical consultant (special Needs), I have a graduate and PhD in Education and have taught several university courses to undergraduate and graduate students which deal directly with pedagogy. A list of these courses are listed in my election statement.
WHY ARE YOU RUNNING FOR THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF PEDAGOGICAL AFFAIRS?
I strongly believe that my experience working in high school, middle school and at the elementary levels with both regular and special needs students as well as my academic experience advocating for teachers all serve to prepare me for this challenge. In addition, I have always actively served on committees that are directly related to this position in my schools, at LTU and QPAT.
