ABOUT ME
Putting My Experience
to Work
Since my first teaching contract, I have stood up for teachers’ rights. Even without tenure, I challenged the administration when I discovered colleagues were not receiving the oversized class compensation they were owed.
I don’t just talk about advocacy-I act on it. Early in my career, I was selected as part of a four-member EMSB team working with the provincial government to pilot research-based practices and advance inclusive approaches during curriculum renewal.
I bring that same commitment, courage, and experience to every role-and I will continue to put it to work for you.
“I have delivered on, and often exceeded, the promises I made four years ago. I remain committed to this work: improving access to medical care, reinforcing that teachers matter, and continuing to refine the IEP process. I have always worked tirelessly for teachers, and I’m not slowing down.”
My experience as an educator and my work at the Laurier Teachers’ Union have provided me with extensive expertise in developing and implementing projects, initiatives, and solutions related to education, teacher advocacy, and social justice. In my union role, I have worked closely with educators and school communities to respond to complex issues, defend teachers’ rights, and support meaningful change. I am confident that I would make a strong contribution to the work of the LTU and its partners in this role.
With strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills, I am able to coordinate all stages of a project effectively, from planning through to implementation. My work has involved both the theoretical and practical dimensions of education-related projects in local and broader contexts, giving me a deep understanding of the challenges connected to access, retention, support, and success within educational settings.
