ABOUT ME
Putting My Experience
to Work
Since I was hired for my first teaching contract I have always fought for teacher rights. For example, during my first teaching contract, and even though I did not have tenure, I stood up to the administration when I discovered that several teachers were not receiving the oversized class compensation they deserved.
I have a successful track record of promoting effective learning techniques at all levels of learning. As early as my first full time position I was selected to be part of a select team of educators who piloted innovative research based teaching and learning techniques for the provincial government in the English Montreal School Board. This coaching team that was made up of four teachers collaborated with the provincial government in order to design effective methods to achieve inclusion within the context of curriculum renewal.
As an experienced educator with comprehensive expertise developing and implementing projects and solutions in the realm of Social Justice education, I am confident that I would significantly contribute to the success of LTU and its partners in this role. Furthermore, my solid communication, time management, and problem-solving skills allow me to excel in coordinating all facets of program and project life cycles.
My experience aligns well, as I have worked both with the theoretical and practical component to overseeing education related projects locally and internationally. I apply a deep understanding of the specific challenges and needs in relation to access to, retention in, and completion of educational benchmarks.
